Visibility of civic numbers in rural and semi-rural areas of Saint-Lazare - Installation well under way Français
SAINT-LAZARE (Québec), September 29, 2008

It is with pride that Saint-Lazare Mayor, Paul Carzoli, and Saint-Lazare fire department Director, Daniel Boyer, visited, early this afternoon (September 29, 2008), the site where the first reflective address signs were installed.

« So far, our residents’ reaction is pretty good» said Mayor Carzoli. « Not only are they in favor of this safety measure in rural and semi-rural areas, they’re actually proud to post the Town’s logo, which is a nice sign of belonging to our community! » concluded the Mayor.

The installation of these reflective address signs in rural and semi-rural areas of Saint-Lazare is meant to increase the visibility of civic numbers, often hard to see from the public road because of the forest cover and remote location of the building on the property. Indeed, more than 380 places of residence were targeted by our Fire department and will be identified with a reflective sign by the end of November, in order to facilitate access to all emergency services.

For any question concerning this project, please contact Saint-Lazare’s fire prevention Captain, Martin Tanguay, at 450-424-1114 or by e-mailing him at matanguay@ville.saint-lazare.qc.ca.
