Summer Counsellors Week
We love our counsellors!
SAINT-LAZARE (Québec), August 6, 2010

Ville de Saint-Lazare has unveiled on August 6, 2010 at Community Centre a marker holding names of 6 laureates cumulating 4 years of service for the Semaine de la valorisation en animation estivale edition 2010 (Summer Counsellors Week). This year, laureates are: Smoothy, Sunny, Flip, Westfalia, Flo and Figji! Moreover, this year, we have underlined the great work of Mighty Mouse who cumulates 8 years working at the Day Camp. Amazing!

These young counsellors, in top of their regular tasks, team up to hold a blood donor clinic during their spare times. 139 persons showed up to give a gift of life! Amongst them, 27 were giving for the first time! What a great opportunity to be a great model and to raise awareness to this great cause! Congratulations!

The Semaine de valorisation de l'animation estivale (Summer Counsellors Week) happens every year at mi-summer. Its objective is to underline the great work done by thousand of youngsters working in day camp. It also underlines the important role of day camp in work-life balance throughout summer. The Semaine de valorisation de l'animation estivale is an initiative of the Fédération québécoise des centres communautaires de loisir, the ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport, the Mouvement québécois des camps familiaux, the Association des camps du Québec and the Association québécoise du loisir municipal.

For more information, contact Michael Bianco, Saint-Lazare activities’ coordinator at 450-424-2999, ext. 224.
