Garbage collector seriously hurt in Saint-Lazare
Français
SAINT-LAZARE (Quebec) - On July 22nd, 2009

A garbage collector was seriously hurt around noon on July 22nd, 2009 while working on the Saint-Lazare territory. A spray paint can, thrown in along with the regular garbage, exploded in his face while the truck was compacting the wastes. We still fear for his eyesight.

The Town of Saint-Lazare wants to remind its residents that it is formally forbidden to throw hazardous wastes with the regular garbage; this includes inflammable, explosive, corrosive, toxic materials, and reagents.

Another garbage collector encountered the same fate in 2005 when a resident discarded his left over pool chemicals in the regular garbage.
