The Club Équestre Les Forestiers Français
The Club Équestre Les Forestiers was founded in 1990. Its goal is to maintain and develop the trails in the Saint-Lazare area. The club has over 900 members, most of whom are local residents who enjoy riding.

Riding has been a part of our region’s culture for many decades. The Saint-Lazare area has one of the largest horse population in Quebec (over 3,500 horses) and, with the hundreds of large and small farms in its various equestrian zones, Ville de Saint-Lazare is truly one-of-a-kind.

The popularity of horse riding is directly linked to the quality of the trails found in the Saint-Lazare area. Indeed, their mostly sandy base provides comfortable footing for the horses. In addition, the scenery is varied and often spectacular: sandpits, maple groves, wooded areas of leafy trees interspersed with evergreens, small lakes and ravines all offer beautiful views that change with the seasons. The trails in Saint-Lazare (over 100 km) are among the most beautiful in Quebec thanks to the cooperation of the Town and several property owners who have concluded agreements with the Club Équestre Les Forestiers.

The Club organizes various activities and holds clean-up and trail opening days with the help of numerous volunteers. It is involved in the community and raises funds for local projects. The Club publishes a newsletter, sends out bulletins to its members and provides maps of the trails.

Our members have free access to the Base de Plein Air Les Cèdres parking lot as well as to the trail network. They also benefit from a liability insurance-covering riders.

By becoming a member of our club, you participate in the maintenance and development of a quality trail network.
