Soil Bioengineering for Treatment of Erosion and Unstable Slopes Français
Dave Polster
Last fall, following heavy rain, there was a landslide at 612 Main road in Hudson, blocking the train track. Dave Polster, one of the very few experts bioengineering, is coming from British Columbia to stabilise the slope. He uses live branches that grow into trees, whose deep roots physically stabilise the soil and pump water from the soil. This solution is not only green and long-term, it also costs much much less than traditional engineering techniques. Dave will present the techniques and some of his previous achievements.
