The Centre d’accueil Vaudreuil hosted its first residents on May 25, 1981. The Center was officially inaugurated on June 26, 1981. It is located at 408, St-Charles Avenue, Vaudreuil-Dorion, right by the Cité-des-Jeunes high school.
Since its opening in May of 1981, the Centre has hosted an impressive number of people in need of long term care services and temporary shelter. The Centre also provides therapeutic care through its day care center. Several individuals have benefited from this program since its inception in September 1984. The care provided helps these individuals to improve their quality of life in the community. Moreover, a point of service of the Centre de jour Vaudreuil is in operation since July 1987 in Rigaud at the Foyer de Rigaud. To date, numerous people in this area have benefited from this facility.
The Fondation du centre d’accueil Vaudreuil
For the past 30 years, the board of directors piloted a great number of major programs and projects to improve the quality of life of its residents.
The primary role of the Fondation du centre d’accueil Vaudreuil (FCAV) is to gather funds to help the elderly people in loss of functional independence due either to illness, mental or physical handicap, by providing funds for:
- Organizing leisure-time activities;
- Organizing courses, training sessions and awareness sessions;
- Acquiring the therapeutic material and equipment required to provide dedicated services.
We are extending a very special request to the Vaudreuil-Soulanges area businesses and to the population, to participate in the Foundation by contributing in a tangible way, to the Centre d’accueil de Vaudreuil. To make your donation (www.fcavaudreuil.com/dondonationfcav/)
