To highlight the opening of the National Palliative Care Week across Canada, the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence (VSPCR) is launching a special invitation to all the population of Vaudreuil-Soulanges and surrounding areas to come join us and participate in our 1st Edition of the “I walk for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence”. This 1st annual fundraising event will take place on Sunday, May 6th, 2012 in Hudson under the honorary presidency of the VSPCR medical team and staff which is comprised of 5 doctors; Dr. Sylvie Dufresne, Medical Chief, Dr. Andreea Iancu, Dr. Aïda Pop, Dr. Chantal Anctil and Dr. Helena Neamt, and VSPCR Health Care Director, Mrs. Lucie Guimond, the nurses, the nursing assistants, the orderlies and patient care volunteers.
Become the leader of your team, invite your family and friends to join you!
Each team comprises 2 or more participants (as many as you want) having the goal to collect $1,000. It’s an enjoyable outdoor activity for ALL ages in the picturesque town of Hudson. The 6 km walk will start at 9.00 am at the Stephen F. Shaar Community Center in Hudson which will be followed by a family-style picnic at the end of the walk in Thompson Park. Join in the community spirit, with a fun filled day for the whole family, which includes live animation and ending at 2.00 pm.
This year, we hope to have over 300 walkers at our 1st Edition of the “I walk for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence” and we wish to invite the population of Vaudreuil-Soulanges and surrounding areas to participate in this financing activity and at the same time, gather families, friends, VSPCR healthcare staff and volunteers to ensure the success of this walk.
This fundraiser is an absolute necessity as it will allow us to pursue our mission which is offering serenity, peacefulness and relief in the comforts of home with palliative care excellence, thanks to a team of dedicated professionals, employees, volunteers and partners, all free of charge
