Batteries and cellphones

The city in association with the Call2Recycle program is from now on a collecting site for used batteries, including cell phone batteries.

Residents wishing to dispose of these residual materials will be able to drop them off at the library during opening hours.

Call to Recycle MD is the first and most important management program for batteries in the United States and Canada, collecting and recycling batteries free of charge across Canada. We recycle the batteries and collected in the form of a variety of products and reusable materials to avoid to transport hazardous waste in landfill sites. Since 1996, our program has diverted more than 39 million kg of batteries from the local landfill. In 2013, we have collected nearly 5.3 million kg of batteries - a record - thanks to people like you and our network of 34 000 of drop-off points across United States and Canada.

Our program owes its existence to the batteries manufacturers and portable products that are concerns about their impact on the environment. Our program is managed by Call2Recycle Canada, Inc., a non-profit organization registered with Canada Revenue Agency.
