Saint-Laz’ARTS
A Cultural program that changes with seasons

Saint-Laz’ARTS is a series for free shows for all ages and for all tastes all along the year.

Mornings
Starting this spring, Saint-Laz’ARTS mornings will showcase a series of concerts and shows at the Community Centre. On Sunday mornings, all the family will be enchanted with warm classical performances.

Evenings
On Wednesday nights, adults will be invited Chez Maurice to enjoy hot explosive rhythms. The evening includes dancing and singing, in the magnificent room were so many well-known artists have performed.

Open air Saint-Laz’ARTS
The open air shows were so popular in the past that we bring them once again during the summer 2011. It is a rendezvous, this summer, to discover various musical backgrounds, attend comedy show or see an outdoor movie!

To view the complete Saint-Laz’ARTS programming, see the programming below or contact the Recreation and Community Life Department at 450-424-8000 ext. 220.

May 2nd - Karen Young Jazz Trio [more]
Karen Young will be accompanied by two other living encyclopedias of jazz, Sylvain Provost and Normand Guilbeault; over 100 years of on-stage musical experience and an almost limitless repertoire of today’s hits and yesterday’s classics. This trio was born to allow the three accomplices to perform what they consider to be the most beautiful jazz songs. And what a trio: Karen Young has been a jazz singer for 38 years and is known for her unique interpretations and improvisations. May 13, 2012 –FLOTS, tout ce qui brille voit *, a Théâtre des Confettis production
Véronique Côté is the author and director of this play entitled “Flots, tout ce qui brille voit”. It is about a great man who brings before our eyes the sand and the turtles, the seagulls and the fish, the hay, the sky, the boats and the time that passes by. He makes us dream of the sea! First, we must walk, following a narrow path lined with shells and stones that goes around a large tent made of sheets. We hear the sound of a harmonica. We reach our destination. It is hot but there is a light breeze. A melody makes our heart beat slower. The light is as soft as that of the setting sun. Like a postcard, strewn with images, music, words, silence… like a poem written for someone we love. Like a vacation on a beach of our own invention.

*Tout ce qui brille voit, a citation from “La poétique de l’espace” by Gaston Bachelard, PUF.
For children 18 months to 3 years old
   A 35-minute show
