Important Reminder

By-Law nº 438
Fire Protective Signalling Systems and Equipment

Take note the municipal By-Law nº 438 concerning the installation of fire protective signaling equipment intended to warn in case of fire, requires a building owner to install and maintain fire alarms on every floor of an inhabited building.

In the case of a new building, fire alarms must be linked together in a permanent way to an electric circuit so as to automatically activate the entire system, which in turn would warn all building occupants of an emergency fire situation.

Starting in 2007, Saint-Lazare’s Service de sécurité incendie will visit all residential buildings on its territory to verify they are all equipped with a least one smoke detector per inhabited floor and that these work correctly.

For more information concerning this reminder,
contact Saint-Lazare’s Service de sécurité incendie
at (450) 424-1114.
