SAINT-LAZARE (Quebec)
Every year, the Town proceeds to the complete flushing of its aqueduct system in a two-phase operation, generally in the spring and in the fall. This unidirectional flushing operation aims to remove undesirable sediments from the pipeline network to ensure quality drinking water at all times.
In the spring, the Town proceeds to flush its Saddlebrook network as well as its Sainte-Angélique network west of rue du Bordelais and montée Saint-Robert, whereas in the fall, it proceeds to flush remaining ducts on its Sainte-Angélique network east of rue du Bordelais and montée Saint-Robert.
For the flushing to be effective, the water is only allowed to flow in one direction within the system to numerous selected hydrant flushing points, which explains why the work may span over a three-week period. The operation may temporarily affect the clearness and the pressure of the water, for this reason, we ask citizens with unusually cloudy water to let their taps run for a few minutes (until the situation is restored).
We ask that, citizens check the water color before doing the laundry. We also suggest to do the laundry after 6 p.m.
During the next operation should you notice an abnormal situation,
please contact the Services techniques at 450 424-8000, ext. 235.
