Saint-Lazare (Québec), October 5, 2009
Ville de Saint-Lazare wishes to mention that members of council have recently agreed to share the expenses associated to the use of the public transport offered by the CIT La Presqu’Île on the Hudson territory until May 31st, 2010, at which point the Saint-Lazare public transport study should have been completed. The invoice is slightly in excess of $22,000.
Members of council are aware that a number of Saint-Lazare residents wish to use public transport, however the challenge Saint-Lazare faces to meet such a desire is much greater than the challenge met by other more dense and concentrated town populations. Saint-Lazare’s population is scattered over a 67 km² territory. For these reasons, the Town wants to survey its residents to better target the clientele and different sectors to be covered. The Town will hire an external firm to do so.
Residents will therefore be asked to participate at the end of 2009, beginning of 2010 to answer the survey either by phone or on the Town’s website. To make sure you do not miss the survey, subscribe to the “Important notice” category at ville.saint-lazare.qc.ca/subscription.
