Saint-Lazare (Québec), October 5, 2009
Saint-Lazare’s Service de sécurité incendie (1875 avenue Bédard) will
again open its door to the public on Saturday, October 10, 2009
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as part of the National Fire Prevention week taking place
from October 4 to October 10, 2009.
Last year, no less than 1,400 people took advantage of the event to
visit the fire station and ask all the fire-prevention questions they
wanted including information on municipal by-laws, smoke detectors, and
carbon monoxide and propane detectors. Young and not so young also
appreciated a traditional visit of the firefighting vehicles and
equipment in their super heroes’ company.
Extrication demonstrations will run throughout the day.
Furthermore, the fire department’s Assistant Director, Regent Marineau,
will offer you, at 2 p.m., an information session on what it takes to
become a firefighter, including training and availability, as well as
answer all questions relating to this rewarding career.
Put yourself to the test regarding fire prevention and run the chance to
win some prizes (smoke alarm, portable fire extinguisher, etc.)!
