Wildlife in Saint-Lazare - The animals share our territory Français
SAINT-LAZARE (Québec), September 20, 2010

The Town of Saint-Lazare, which is far from being a “concrete downtown” or a West Island town, spreads over 67 km² of forest. Wildlife, including moose, deer, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, fishers and the occasional bear also share our territory and are an integral part of our reality. Usually discreet, it is possible that some of these animals occasionally end-up in a residential area. If their passage is not disrupted, the animal will usually move on. Don't attrack them! Get a lid-covered garbage container to avoid surprises and inconveniences! Nature? Wildlife is part of it!

Tips and tricks
Keep your yard neat and tidy. Piles of wood and debris can be used as shelter by small rodents. Ridding your yard of clutter can help prevent the unsightly mess made by rodents tunnelling your lawn during the winter.

Keep cats indoor, or do not let them out late at night or early morning.
