Pointe-Claire, QC (January 7th, 2010)

The Lakeshore General Hospital (LGH) Foundation has been chosen by
Scotiabank as a recipient charity for their upcoming marathon, The
Scotiabank Group Charity Challenge, which will be held on Sunday, April 18th, 2010 at Parc Jean-Drapeau on Île-Ste-Hélène. The run is one of
Montreal’s largest running events.
At present, the Foundation is appealing to the public and to local
businesses and organizations to form teams to run on behalf of the
Foundation. The run consists of two options for each team – a 5k or a
21k course – for which runners could be pledged or sponsored.
Substantial prizes for chosen charities for outstanding runners and
teams have been announced by Scotiabank. Media participation is also
greatly encouraged, with prizes for charity for the fastest media team
runners.
Donations can also be made. Tax receipts will be issued for all
donations and pledges over $25.
Runners will have a great chance to support and give back to their
community hospital. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to
run an official marathon at Île-Ste-Hélène for many.
If requested, community service hours will be acknowledged
Call the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation at 514-630-2081 for more

Working together, we can make a difference in the quality of health care
in the West Island and beyond.
