SAINT-LAZARE (Québec) – April 15, 2009
The Town would like to remind its residents that the spring flushing of
the Saddlebrook network will be starting April 20, 2009 and will last
approximately 2 weeks from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Then, the Town will
proceed with the flushing of the western part of the Sainte-Angélique
network (West of rue Bordelais and montée Saint-Robert)
for another 2 weeks from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Flushing Map
Every year, the Town proceeds to the complete flushing of its aqueduct
system in a two-phase operation, generally in the spring and in the
fall. This unidirectional flushing operation aims to remove undesirable
sediments from the pipeline network to ensure quality drinking
water at all times.
In the spring, the Town proceeds to flush its Saddlebrook network and
Sainte-Angélique network west of rue du Bordelais and montée
Saint-Robert, whereas in the fall, remaining Sainte-Angélique ducts
located east of those streets are flushed.
For the flushing to be effective, the water is only allowed to flow in
one direction within the system to numerous selected hydrant flushing
points, which explains why the work may span over a four-week period.
The operation may temporarily affect the clearness and the pressure of
the water, for this reason, we ask citizens with unusually cloudy water
to let their taps run for a few minutes (until the situation is restored)
The flushing periods are, as usual, published in the form of an ad in a
French newspaper and in an English newspaper as well as in the form of
an electronic press release forwarded to all our Web subscribers. To

During the next operation, should you notice abnormal situations, do not
hesitate to contact the Public Work at 450-455-4664.
