Welcome to Ville de Saint-Lazare Français
On behalf of the Town council and its employees, I am very happy and proud to welcome you as a new member of our community.

You are now part of an organisation that values close ties between its citizens, municipal personnel and elected officials; an organisation that welcomes comments and recommendations from its community members and partners ! Saint-Lazare is a true reflection of its community : a Town that has distinguished itself for its dynamic spirit, sense of creativity and initiatives.

We want to provide you with the tools that will facilitate your integration and allow you to proactively participate and contribute to the continuous improvement of your community.

As you glance through our WEB site, you will find information of a general and practical nature including a short history of the Town, the most commonly asked about municipal by-laws, our office hours, our recreation services, hospitals, schools and other handy numbers as well as a copy of the last quarterly municipal bulletin.

Once again, I wish you a very warm welcome to our beautiful community.

Welcome to your new home !

Located in Montérégie just 23 km from the Ontario border, Ville Saint-Lazare which spreads out over 67.58 km2 is delimited by Ville Vaudreuil-Dorion, Les Cèdres, Saint-Clet, Sainte-Marthe and Hudson.

The population of Saint-Lazare (2003 ) ranges in the neighbourhood of 15 000 inhabitants, second largest town in the Soulanges county, after Vaudreuil-Dorion. Approximately 55% of the residents are French speaking, while 36% are English-speaking and 9% are allophones.

Saint-Lazare stands out from other communities with its rural character, cycling trails, equestrian activities, its forests and peaceful housing developments, which are geared towards family living. Very focused on the environment, the Town has adopted environmental by-laws to protect the health of its citizens as well as its forests which covers more than 60 % of its territory. All social, cultural and sport services and activities definitely provide a quality of life that is second to none.

Saint-Lazare also offers great business opportunities to those interested in establishing a business in our community since the municipality has been one of the fastest growing town in the country in the last fifteen years.
