Great Achievements by Public Works Teams

December 19, 2024

In 2024, the various Travaux publics teams helped make Ville de Saint-Lazare even more beautiful, efficient and effective. These men and women, early risers and late sleepers (and sometimes even very early and very late, in case of emergencies) are dedicated to the smooth running of our city's activities. Here are a few words about each of the teams.

Buildings: The Buildings team sees to the maintenance and improvement of our municipal buildings. In 2024, they professionally improved the Cercle de Fermières area, built a postal kiosk and installed new fencing.

Mechanics: We can always count on our mechanics to take care of the maintenance of all municipal vehicles, Service des incendies trucks and Services de l’environnement et des loisirs vehicles. As a result, our teams can get around and meet your needs safely and trouble-free.

Concierge service: Our team of concierges is responsible for the cleanliness of our various buildings. You don't often see them, but they're the “ninjas” who stand behind your family and association parties on municipal premises, making sure the toilets are clean and the rooms are ready and gleaming for your activities. Their contribution is essential and appreciated by all, both internally and externally.

Parks: Our parks teams had a hot summer, to say the least! It was no mean feat to repair the synthetic surface of the Westwood field, nor to set up the Festi Ouest perimeter. One thing's for sure, the success of our festival rests largely on our men and women in Travaux publics, including (but not limited to) our parks crews.

Roads: These teams have succeeded in providing more than one solution to certain aqueduct-related problems. They are also responsible for branch collection, and we've got some branches in Saint-Lazare! These teams also oversee the development of our most beautiful multi-purpose trails, ditch correction and drainage work. Their contribution was crucial on the evening of August 9, 2024, when Saint-Lazare was under a torrential downpour.

Parc nature les Forestiers-de-Saint-Lazare (PNF): The PNF teams are behind the success of the hydro-seeding work (with superb results), the construction of the hockey rink, the maintenance and improvement of the swimming pool, and the cleanliness of the site and its buildings.

Horticulture: This team adds value to our beautiful city. In 2024, they designed the stunningly beautiful horse mosaic on Saint-Charles, as well as overseeing our ecological landscaping.

Atypical team: We must thank them for their versatility and patience, as 2024 had its share of challenges.

Rest assured that the Travaux publics teams are already working to make 2025 another brilliantly positive year. Their contribution, particularly in this year of celebrations for the city's 150th anniversary, will be invaluable.

Thank you to our Travaux publics teams!
