What are Les Fleurons du Québec?

Les Fleurons du Québec is a horticultural classification program for Quebec municipalities. The program has social (health, well-being, pride), economic (development of the horticultural industry and attractiveness of the region to entrepreneurs) and environmental (urban greening) benefits.

Les Fleurons are awarded for a period of three years and are accompanied by a professional evaluation report suggesting avenues of improvement to further enhance municipal greening. Classifiers visit 60% of each municipality's territory and evaluate all sites in public view, including public, institutional, commercial and private sites. Sustainable development initiatives (composting, community gardening, tree conservation, etc.) are also considered.
