Sally and us
Wetlands protection campaign
Why such a campaign? Because, as you probably already know, Ville de Saint-Lazare draws its drinking water exclusively from groundwater, whose recharge areas are mainly on private land. A large number of wetlands are found there, as well as species with precarious status, such as the four-toed salamander - for which we have made our ambassador, Sally. To preserve the quality and quantity of drinking water, it's essential to protect the recharge areas of municipal wells.
In other words, the healthier our wetlands remain, the more we all benefit, especially when it comes to clean, safe drinking water. But wetlands do so much more! And we’d love to show you just how valuable they are. To help spread the word, we’ve created three educational tools made possible through the generous support of the Programme de soutien régional aux enjeux de l’eau from Québec’s Ministère de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs du Québec (MELCCFP) whom we'd like to thank.
Ville de Saint-Lazare would also like to thank its partners for bringing this
project to life: Les Récidivistes Studio, script editor Marie-Hélène
Racine-Lacroix, and LANEC Solutions Web.
