- Genevieve Lachance, Mayor
Mayor

Each of our actions, whether individual or collective, shapes our community, its present and its future. Let us be at the heart of each of them to ensure that our city remains accessible, inclusive, equitable and supportive.
Green spaces and quality of life brought Geneviève Lachance to Saint-Lazare in 1998. Mother of three and holder of a bachelor's degree in social development studies, she worked for 15 years in the financial services industry and as a manager at the National Bank in Hudson and Saint Lazare for several years.
Elected as a City Councilor in November 2017, she has proudly represented the residents of District 1 and has been involved in various city committees: environment, sustainable development, and economic development.
Ms. Lachance was elected by acclamation as the first woman mayor in the history of Saint-Lazare in October 2021. She wants to continue to work closely with the community and ensure that decisions made reflect the wishes and needs of citizens. Being accessible, proactive, and encouraging transparency are fundamental to her.
For Mrs. Lachance, Saint-Lazare represents an attractive living environment and a source of pride for its citizens. The parc nature les Forestiers de Saint-Lazare, the Tourbière-du-Bordelais nature park, the vast forested areas and our equestrian heritage also contribute to the enchantment of our community.
As well, known for its quality of recreational services, Saint-Lazare offers many activities to its population of all ages. Our values are based on family life and the development of a healthy community living in a safe environment. Ms. Lachance seizes the opportunity to distinguish Saint-Lazare as a leader in environmental protection for future generations, but also for our current quality of life. Her commitment to the citizens of Saint-Lazare is the well-being of the community, including the environment, the economy and sustainable development.
