Call for applications for the Cultural Advisory Committee
Ville de Saint-Lazare's Cultural Advisory Committee is looking for two (2) members to complete its team.
The Cultural Committee is an advisory committee with the power to make recommendations. Its mandate is to propose action plans that implement the orientations of the cultural policy and the socio-cultural component of the sustainable development plan adopted by council.
These orientations integrate the five sectors set out in the cultural policy: library/letters, visual arts/art professions, history/heritage, performing arts, culture/education.
These action plans are intended to foster social and economic development and fulfillment, as well as a sense of belonging, pride and cultural diversity for a vibrant, active and supportive cultural milieu.
The members of the committee give priority to actions that help achieve the council objectives, while respecting financial planning, in particular actions that:
- mobilize different cultural players, organizations, partners and communities around unifying projects and events;
- stimulate and promote civic involvement and intergenerational exchanges, regardless of ethnic origin, nationality, language, beliefs or age;
- promote culture as a lever for social cohesion and development, youth development, creativity, social inclusion and the prevention of precariousness;
- recognize the contribution of cultural players;
- solicit the contribution of cultural players in discussions on municipal issues and challenges (cultural mediation);
- support cultural projects.
Meeting frequency: once a month, Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The number of participants is limited to one representative per cultural sector or according to the needs expressed by the council. If you are not selected, you may be invited to take part in certain work tables.
All candidates will receive feedback by e-mail within 15 days of the closing date of the call for nominations.
