Thank You to All the Volunteers in Our Community!
The 50th edition of National Volunteer Week took place from Sunday, April 14 to Saturday, April 20, with the theme: Volunteering, it’s brillant!
To mark the occasion, we highlighted on our social networks the great involvement of all volunteers and their invaluable contribution to our community life. We put the spotlight on those who give their time and talents for the benefit of our communities.
On Saturday, April 20, at the Centre communautaire, the brunch-conférence de l'action bénévole was held, a brand-new event organized by the Service des loisirs et de la vie Communautaire team.
More than 100 volunteers, all from recognized Saint-Lazare organizations, associations or advisory committees were on the guest list. You can find them in the organization directory.
Guests were expected at 10 a.m. at the Community Center. Beverages and a delicious brunch were served, followed by a conference entitled « Prendre soin de soi, pour mieux prendre soin des autres » presented by Le Tournant.
Saint-Lazare mayor Geneviève Lachance also awarded two recognition plaques to two volunteers who have distinguished themselves through their dedication and commitment. Lorraine Caron and Nathalie Gravel each received a plaque for volunteer of the year 2023.
« Cette année encore, les élu.e.s souhaitent mettre en lumière des bénévoles qui se sont distingué.e.s au fil du temps. C'est avec un immense honneur que nous rendons hommage à deux citoyennes remarquables en tant que bénévoles de l'année, dont l'engagement exceptionnel envers la ville de Saint-Lazare est une source d'inspiration pour tous. » - Geneviève Lachance
